Dear Old Hickory,
You have built us a beautiful home.
Even though there were some challenging things, and we were trying
to participate from 800 miles away, we continue to be grateful
that the most important decision - who should build our new home -
was the best one we could have made.
As you mentioned, it is a sad thing
that the building process is ending, because we won't get to see
you as often, and we'll have to develop a repertory of reasons for
you to come north (to Taylorsville, that is) for a visit.
Please pass along our thanks and
appreciation to all the folks at Old Hickory for their dedication
and high standards of their craft. We will always be in touch for
advice and guidance on maintenance and improvement things, and
there is already a welcome mat for you outside the front door.
There will be a little video sometime down the road, chronicling
the events showing the unfolding of our dream, and you will have a
commemorative copy.

Paul and Teresa are terrific…and simply put, building with Old
Hickory was amazing. Paul’s experienced eye helped us site the
house on the land, and he is so skilled with log that he had
practical solutions to any design problem we came up with. God
bless Teresa, because she kept us on budget all the way through.
We can proudly say that our home was completed just when Paul said
it would be, and not one penny over budget.
